Woodwind Faculty

Ann

Ann graduated with a B.M. in music education from Temple University with a concentration in flute. Ann has been playing flute, clarinet and oboe for over 40 years and has been teaching woodwind and brass for almost 30 years. Ann studied with Israel Bourokoff, principle flutist of Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the Temple University Concert and Marching band, the Marple Newtown Community Band and various pickup groups.

Ann’s biggest strengths as a teacher include the vast teaching experience that she has. She has taught hundreds of students, many of whom move up quickly in position in their school or local bands and orchestras. She includes music theory and history in the process of teaching mastery of one’s instrument.  Ann also teaches the basic elements of playing a musical instrument so the student can play in any style. Ann has been teaching at Main Line since 2002.
